Slice Of Heaven:

Take a little ole boat
cast off from the shore
and drift lazily down stream
letting the current take you so
lay back and enjoy the view
as the shattered sunlight pierces on through
all the hues of the trees around you so
birds do but sing their summer sonnets
and the butter flies fly on by
dipping their multitude wings
in their royal majestic colours
the daffodils and tulips
bow their heads to you in regal gestures
and the bees collect their amber nectar
placing a hand upon the water
you notice how cool and collective it is
and how it runneth over you so
soothing the senses
easing the mind
saving the soul
the piscorals swim to and fro
and the water boatman race you
to the point of no return
dragonflies buzz intermittently
swooping and swaying
as the kingfisher pulls another fish
the boat cuts on through the silk waters
and leaves in its wake ripples
that if you stare too closely
you might but see yourself
looking back at you
in another time
an another place
merry do but the sun rays light
catching droplets upon the morns early dew
and as it heats the mist rises
giving to a eerie manner
as if time has stopped
this is but your personal kingdom
and here you are but one
with all that is
and all that can and will be
the frogs announce your arrival
as you come to a island
dock you do and leap you are
as you land on the soft grass
lay upon a blanket and close your eyes
as sleep you find
in this personal haven
and as you fall away
drift to sleep
the clouds give forth pillows
and the sun a blanket
and be you are
in Gods glorious heaven
now
and
forever more....
